Cops can lie legally. So they say 'hey we'll buy that video, show us what you got' and then they just take the phone or whatever and if you complain they charge you with attempted blackmail of a law enforcement officer.

The one that they shot on July 21st is not the first unarmed man to be so killed. Two years ago, the Anaheim police killed another unarmed man.

The civilian population appear to be upset by this. The police administrators don't seem to have the same level of concern and have not shown that they have changed their policies.

Anaheim Police Shooting Sparks Protests
Residents throw rocks and bottles after Anaheim police shoot and kill a man they were chasing on foot.
By Jason Kandel | Sunday, Jul 22, 2012

...

The protest occurred hours after police fatally shot a man after a foot chase through an alley in the 700 block of North Anna Drive at 4 p.m. Saturday, Anaheim police Sgt. Bob Dunn said. Police did not identify him, but the Orange County Register, citing family members, said he was Manuel Diaz.

...

During that time a police dog “accidentally came out of the vehicle” and bit people, police said.

Police were eventually able to get the K-9 back into the vehicle, but were unsure how many people had been bitten.

Televised video showed at least one man with apparent bite marks on his back and a German shepherd biting the arm of another person.

The officer trying to get the dog has a very strong body language like 'oh shit oh shit oh shit oh shit'. It looks accidental to me, or rather, highly negligent.

But the fucking beanbags and pepper balls, that is just absolute unmitigated horseshit. into a small crowd with children? unfuckingbeliveable.

There were dogs at Abu Ghraib. Abu Ghraib was wrong. This is wrong.

Abu Ghraib Dog Tactics Came From Guantanamo

By Josh White
Washington Post Staff Writer

...

At Fort Meade yesterday, soldiers testified that the top military intelligence officer at the prison, Col. Thomas M. Pappas, approved the use of dogs for interrogations. Maj. Matthew Miller, a prosecutor, also revealed that Pappas, faced with a request from interrogators to use dogs on three stubborn detainees captured at the same time as then-Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, "admitted he failed to ask" Lt. Gen. Ricardo S. Sanchez, then the top general in Iraq, for approval as he was supposed to have done.

Pvt. Ivan L. "Chip" Frederick, one of the ringleaders of abuse by military police who is serving an eight-year prison term, testified by phone from Fort Leavenworth, Kan., that interrogators were authorized to use dogs and that a civilian contract interrogator left him lists of the cells he wanted dog handlers to visit. "They were allowed to use them to . . . intimidate inmates," Frederick said.

Sgt. Santos A. Cardona, 31, of California, and Sgt. Michael J. Smith, 24, of Florida, are charged with maltreatment of detainees, largely for allegedly encouraging and permitting unmuzzled working dogs to threaten and attack them. Prosecutors have focused on an incident caught in published photographs, when the two men allegedly cornered a naked detainee and allowed the dogs to bite him on each thigh as he cowered in fear.

Maybe the police need to be rotated out of areas so that they cannot develop the attitude necessary to fire on a crowd. It really shows that the police are fearful (or worse dismissive), weak and consider the people in the crowd to be beneath consideration.

One harrowing moment was when a police dog somehow got free from an officer's car and went at several people. Dunn said it was unclear if anyone had been bitten or injured.

"The officer was quickly able to get the dog back into the vehicle," Dunn said.

As long as there have been cops, there have been asshole cops. However, serving over there must change their psychology. Things are allowed and expected. so when they come back and work enforcement in their own country, certain behavior just seems normal to them.

The motto used to be 'Protect and Serve'. I guess now it's more like:
STOP RESISTING!!!
