Does he not put DU's member's vision forth?
Does he speak with forked tongue?
Does he have a distorted view of reality through his spectacles?
Does he have tin foil covering his head under those silver hairs?

I know, I know...but he's not "A Democrat".

I say, that if you were a member of the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947, and you opposed Jackie Robinson because of his 'color', you would be a single-minded "status-quo-team-only" player.

I say "pshaw" to that. You'd have to look far and wide to find someone more dedicated to the values we, on this message board, hold dear to out hearts.

So there!

btw- I was 7 years old and a bat boy on a semi-pro baseball team that my dad was a catcher for, and heard the pro and con arguments of the players during that era.

Some downright ugly.

No one likes being told that they have been make a fundamental mistake!

As to your statement "We can't let him onto the team because he's not blue enough!" .... I think Sanders' unforgivable sin was to state that the entire Democratic Party was itself, not "..blue enough;" that's a bitter pill to swallow!

To many, Sanders is a reminder of this particularly painful possibility, punctuated by a devastating Presidential loss and yet another down-ticket disaster.

of outreach for the Democratic Party. The lead senate Dem gave him that position. I honor and respect that.

I also appreciate the work Bernie did with the DNC platform - he transformed it.

This guy hits every topic right square on the head. His explanations and reasoning resonates with profound logic and accuracy. He would have been one hell of a president.

"The United States of America is the only major country on Earth that does not guarantee healthcare to all people as a right," Sanders continued. "Canada does it, every major country in Europe does it. Do you believe that healthcare is a right of all Americans, whether they're rich or they're poor? Should people, because they are Americans be able to go to the doctor when they need, to be able to go into a hospital because there are Americans?"

"We are a compassionate society," began Price.

"No we're not a compassionate society," Sanders shot back. "In terms of our relationship to poor and working people, our record is worse than virtually any other country. Of any other major country on Earth and we have the highest rate of childhood poverty of any other major country on Earth and half of our senior older workers have nothing set aside for retirement, so I don't think compared to other countries we are particularly compassionate."

Right wingers pitched a fit over his claim that we don't treat our working people and the poor with compassion. They quibbled over his comparison to other countries and faked outrage that he would attack our great nation but every liberal I know cheered.

Even though our senators are almost all united in opposition to Gorsuch I don't believe we'll win this one. It's difficult to remain optimistic these days.
