Smart phone videos may be our defense against corporate tyranny but they do not remedy the fear of losing jobs and the insecurity too many workers feel about not doing the bidding of monolithic corporations -- throwing paid customers off planes for the AL's agend. This condition has been fostered by almost two generations of crony capitalists making the rules for consumers and workers by paying off Congress, mostly Republicans.

I'm sure there are other rotten airlines, but for now, I would pay more to avoid United.

If I go into an emergency room and say, I was here first and deserve to be seen next; the ER will (rightly) tell me that they can decide the order people are seen. Any customer who ignores a pilot's request to leave a plane and make a scene is a big jerk. He upset a lot of people, if he felt he was being unfairly targeted he can sue.

The moment he was yanked from his ASSIGNED seat and dragged down the aisle, he was set to never have to work another day in his life.

He upset the people... I guess it is upsetting to see a human being dragged from his seat by the black shirts and "somehow" begin bleeding from is mouth. How rude of him to be on time for the flight, go thru the gauntlet we call TSA, check in in a completely civil manner, be sitting in his seat, when arbitrarily someone says get out... What a jerk...

its passengers to pay for its greed when they couldn't seat United personnel.

Passengers on that plane had things THEY needed to do.

Throwing a passenger off a flight after overbooking is not good PR. Whether the pilot has the right to remove a passenger or not is irrelevant here. United will pay for this, and they will a regret NOT having sent another plane for those personnel, as it would have been MUCH cheaper than the price those fucks will pay.

or some organization like the ACLU should sue on his behalf so that he has a better chance of winning. United needs to be punished for this behavior. Their policies and processes have failed over and over and over again. The policies and processes need to change, and they need to lose revenue and profits until it changes.

This problem is prevented through better planning at their competitors. And through more sensible staff who would increase the money offered until someone takes it. You don't just rough someone up into a bloody mess like this.

Come fly the bloody violent skies.

Done by the POLICE!

This poor man was doing nothing wrong.

Do doubt there were children on board this plane - can you imagine how this will traumatize them?

Scratch United off my list!

14. This flight was NOT OVERBOOKED!

This was a full flight. United sold all of the seats, and THEN decided it wanted to privilege the transport of 4 crew members to Louisville over four paying customers. If it had beern an overbook situation, the airline would have made a decision about who would be booted from the flight prior to boarding.
