Bill Nye Destroys Trump Adviser William Happer, Scolds CNN over Climate Change

When CNN puts one scientist that represents 99% of the consensus against one that represents 1%, they make it look like it's 50/50. One to one. William Happer has no credibility. He represents 1% against 99%. WTF CNN?

How can we argue that America should not be world leaders in alternative energy?

This Happer guy is a complete and total shill for the oil and gas industry...Mr. Nye is so correct in confronting these a-holes (and CNN with their false equivalency). According to
Happer, we should do nothing (like the Paris accord) because it won't matter, "you can see the greening of the earth"....CO2 good, climate and energy controls bad....what a douche...

Because they are paid by the energy industry, who stands to lose money if we try to stop climate change.

So the energy industry makes perfectly rational business decisions in investing in climate change denial.

And remember CNN makes money when they can get people arguing on TV.

.. went a little easier on this charlatan than I had hoped. The best analogy I've heard about climate change, and I don't remember who or where I read it, goes like this : If you had a persistent cough and you went to see 100 Doctors, if 97 of them said it was cancer and the other 3 said they couldn't be sure ....... who would you go with? Which group would you take advice and treatment from?

He brought proportional representation on the stage. "Which number is bigger: 15 or 5?"

The utility companies -- at least the smart ones -- are already investing in renewable energy technologies.
They know that fossil fuels will eventually become less and less cost effective.
Witness: Florida's largest electric utility company (a for-profit, shareholder-owned business) -- Florida Power and Light -- has set a goal of building eight solar farms by 2018.
Locally, the 30-year-old coal-burning generating station, jointly operated by FPL and Jacksonville Electric Authority, is going to be decommissioned and dismantled because it's just not cost-effective to maintain and operate. Do you seriously think these utilities would write off 1.3 Gigawatt capacity if it didn't make good business sense? I -- for one -- will not miss the sight and sound of trains of coal hoppers rumbling through my neighborhood at all hours.

The climate-change deniers are due for extinction. And not a minute too soon!

Nobody with any sense has said that CO2 is a pollutant. He's not refuting that CO2 levels are rising or that this is a bad thing, which are both true. He's just talking around the climate change issue and not addressing it head on. Next he will say that melting ice in the Arctic and rising sea levels aren't shown to cause cancer.

Pollution is the presence in or introduction into the environment of a substance or thing that has harmful or poisonous effects. How then is CO2 not a pollutant? And don't give me the "it's natural" bullshit. Radium is natural, but dump a half ton of it in your back yard and I'll bet you sure would view that as a pollutant.

Massive introduction of it to the environment by artificial means? Check. Deleterious effects on the environment? Check.
So tell me: how is CO2 not a pollutant?
