He was state-of-the-art. But he let hubris persuade him to tape all his conversations. Trump and his minions have left a trail of bread crumbs a mili wide, and lied their asses of about things that can easily be checked by the intelligence services that monitor conversations with foreign powers, and banking records. The FBI is building a case with the CIA and others who Trump dissed. That was his hubris.

I was a college student during Watergate and watched the unfolding crisis very closely. The video brought back many memories. Thanks!

Like most people, the evening news during that time was not be missed. We sat glued to the tv, in my family it had always been Cronkite, so that is what I watched as a young adult.

Compared to Trump's treason ( and that is the word we should be using every damn day!!!) Watergate was not a big,
but Nixon did indeed deserve to be impeached.

Every damn Congress person who defends Trump, or who stays silent, needs to be called out as a supporter of treason.

6. Perhaps Watergate alone did not reach the level of Trump's crimes and misdemeanors.

Nixon however also committed treason by undermining the Paris peace talks during Johnson's administration, only one of his many dirty tricks.

But hell, as long as we got him out on his ear one way or the other.

My 2 sons were born late '60's, I always considered Nixon, the war, the draft, as serious attempts to feed my kids to the cannon fire, so to speak, which added to my fury about him.
I can never explain how intensely I felt.
I could never understand how other mothers were ok with their sons going off to fight rich men's wars.
