They're there to influence opinion for the right, not to genuinely measure reality. Then, it creates the false narrative that there are right leaning polls and left leaning, and that Gallup and AP and Quinnipiac are just trying to influence things for the left in the same way that Rasmussen is for the right.

The insidious thing about "conservative media" isn't just how they influence people, but that they get people to believe that the Washington Post, NY Times and legitimate journalism are somehow left wing propaganda that is just the flip side of Breitbart and Fox. The number of people that have been convinced to just ignore reality and call it "fake news", encouraged by the President of the USA, is Orwellian.

Government merging with the corporate state and then lying about all they are doing like Prueit sayig " We've created 50,000 new coal jobs this quarter alone" when in fact there are only 51,000 coal jobs in total, or the crowd size, or Obama wire tapping Trump etc. etc. etc..
