(1,779 posts)Nixon became president because he prolongs the Vietnam War and therefore Humphrey could not be elected as president.. (He promises South Vietnamese that he would give them money, etc., if they did not agree to the Paris peaks talks. Thom Hartmann regularly plays the telephone conversation between Pres. Johnson and Sen. Everett Dirksen, in which Dirksen admits that Nixon committed treason. Because Pres. Ford was in office because of Nixon's treasonous behaviors, Pres. Ford could not be said to have come into the office legally.)
Pres. Reagan got to be president because he worked out a deal with home a knee of Iran to hold the American hostages until Inauguration Day. They did hold the hostages captive until Reagan raised his hand to be inaugurated as president. The parts for jets and so on had already been started to be shipped to a ran by that point. At any rate, he also committed treason. And Thom Hartmann says that the first President Bush would not have been elected without treasonous Reagan getting elected.
And of course shrub Bush got to be elected because his brother, Jeb Bush, scrubbed 50,000 African-American voters from the rolls in Florida, this allowing the matter to make its way to the Supreme Court (where five conservative justices clearly broke election rules).
And Hartmann says there is a lot of reason to believe that the last election was also stolen, this because of a combination of Russian influence, voter suppression, etc.
in addition to voter suppression, Hartman also points out the "red shift" that is taken place with vote totals since voting machines started being used very widely in 2002. Up until then, the exit polls reflected very, very closely what the actual vote tallies were. However, once voting machines were used, about 5 to 7% more votes were racked up for Republicans (in red states) on voter machines then the exit polls stated.
Hartman says that this is statistically impossible if the voting machines were not hacked/corrupted/etc., and many of the very learned guests who have been on his show agree with him about this.
all the Republicans are interested in his power, and they don't care how many rules have to be bent as long as they win. Republicans are the only ones who say they believe in widespread "in person voter fraud," but there has been no proof that this happens.
