We see the misogyny today. One can only imagine what it was like when it was broader and institutionalized. When domestic violence was legal. When it was legal to kill your wife under certain circumstances. When some women were not allowed to own property. And most important of all: women weren't allowed to vote, and just peacefully marching to protest that resulted in criminal arrests at times (without blocking others' rights).

It wasn't that long ago. But let's not forget that many men supported the women in their quest to get the right to vote.
