(9,904 posts)1. When we adopted from CHina, we were ecstatic, the ENTIRE family
Taking the youngest to the oldest volleyball games was fun. Just give her a ball and she was happy as could be.
Now questions would come from the adults of the kids in the school. THey were tying to talk to her, she was just looking at them NOT saying anything, sort of clinging to my leg. THey were strangers and she was unsure of them.
One of them asked me, "She must not talk because she doesn't understand English?" "She must only speak Chinese".
I answered them, "She must not talk because she doesn't know YOU and she's afraid of you, and she's ONLY 13 months OLD"!
People can be so damned obtuse its maddening.
That 13 month toddler, is now sweet 16, knocking them over in HS, making the grades without issue.
O and that school? She wound up getting bullied so badly, that we pulled her and placed her in another school.
THe bully, a blond haired, blue eyed little witch.

What I know of is that Asians are thought to be highly intelligent, and hard, good workers who produce good product. Among the best employees you can hire.
That's all I've ever heard.
