We know most of Congress is stunned by trump, and wants him gone.
the Republicans can not push him out publicly, they count on his knuckle dragging base to keep their jobs so that they can continue to enjoy all the money they get from Big donors. ( I call it bribes, they call it "contributions&quot .
so, if they roar and bluster in public, and go thru a confused and sham investigation, it looks good for "doing their job" but Mueller taking him out is what they want.
Just as good a way to look at it as any other.

Adam Schiff says they may close down the House investigation soon.
Doesn't sound like a move you'd make if you wanted him gone.

With Republicans, Fox News sets the agenda and the party trudges along behind wherever they go.
Trump is a Fox News creation and Fox wants him to stay so Republicans want him to stay.

They may have different personal views but they will always concede to the desires of Fox News no matter how illegal or insane.
