Can Oprah Winfrey Beat Trump In 2020 to Become the First Woman President?

Oprah could be our next president? Really. After delivering an amazing speech, the nation is asking what will happen. Is she the populist progressive with name recognition that we've been hoping for?

But if THAT’S the universe we’re all in now, if THAT’S where we are and THAT’S the playing field we’re dealing with, with this dingdong nutcase “Judge Judy electorate”, then I want mine to be the cream of the crop and the best of the lot.

At least Oprah is a high-quality prospect.

But if THAT’S the universe we’re all in now, if THAT’S where we are and THAT’S the playing field we’re dealing with, with this dingdong nutcase “Judge Judy electorate” that seems to have way more presence and clout than they deserve, then by Jove, I want mine to be the best of the lot, the creme de la creme, and light years better than they’ve got!

And if Oprah wants to run, more power to her.

We should not make the mistake we made with Hillary and agree on our candidate way in advance. Choosing an "anointed" candidate in advance gives the Republican scandal-mongering team lots of time to think up bogus ways to destroy the candidate.

Let's stop making it easy for Republican opposition researchers and more important for Republican scandal-creators to create a negative image for a candidate we pick too early, a negative image that is not only false but engraved into voters' minds so that they will vote for anyone but our candidate.

Let's think of the 2020 nominee as a surprise package. Make Republicans spend their money and time doing oppo research on tons of candidates.

Oprah is a possibility, but there are lots of other good people who could run. And I hope they do.

The Republicans spent years picking at and tearing down Hillary. Let's don't fall for that trap again.

Mass appeal, Long and successful history with the public. Favorables through the roof. Compassion plus. Creative as all-get-out. And FEARLESS. Smart, articulate, a great communicator, very nimble mind, and NO reputation for lying or misrepresenting anything. She is honest and totally believable. People trust her, and with good reason Formidable business record, ALL sterling - and no multiple bankruptcies like trump has. Never been in bed with mobsters, money launderers, or Russians. Like-ability galore! Relatable, with a sympathetic common touch like almost no one else I’ve ever seen!

Broadcast pioneer (first woman to own her own cable network). Credibility up in the stratosphere. Knows and understands the issues, remember: she started in local television as a news anchor, AND she started that as a pioneer as well, when women were just breaking in, plus, as a black woman breaking that barrier back then too.

A sexual assault victim - that gives her bigtime consciousness and sensitivity to the #metoo movement. A philanthropist and international do-gooder of the first order. Baggage? Seriously, no one cares. When you’re THAT popular (indeed, she’s literally beloved!), almost everyone will give you a pass. I’d guess there’s more than enough good will with the public to translate into one helluva lot of votes and Electoral College points.

She pretty much has mine already, barring the unforeseen, of course.

You're handing the 2020 election to trumpervert if he survives, and to whoever the republicans run if he doesn't.

However, let's not forget that the Repukes will do ANYTHING to degrade, deride and denounce an opposition candidate. Indeed, their evil minions are already trying to dredge up any nasty, toxic tidbits they can use to smear her, whether they're true or false. (Let's face it: truth was the real loser in the 2016 election cycle). While I'm sure Oprah can withstand numerous low blows, she deserves better.

Let's focus on finding the candidate with experience in governing -- as well as one who reflects the changing diversity of our country -- and who can withstand the most withering attacks. Someone unafraid and quite willing to counter those attacks, blow-for-blow.

Are we OUT of politicians who have actual practical experience with governing?

Oprah may be a good person. She's done some good things with her crumbs; but I really don't care to have another "illiterate-politician" running our future. And I seriously don't want a religious fruit cake anywhere near the White House for the rest of my life!!
