(4,341 posts)but he must be one sharp guy. If I were part of the republican party I would move this guy into a candidacy.
Is he a good governor? or just another trumper?

(198 posts)He won't release his tax returns (Bevin.) Took Government bail-out money for his company in Connecticut, yet wants to throw poor folks under the bus. Typical carpet bagger. He thinks we natives are stupid. Bevin, McConnell and Paul are all outsiders yet they are our representatives. There is much home grown talent here but we have these three morans......sigh....

(841 posts)Ask this Butthead what his State did to work with Obama Care????
Here are Facts and no Bullspin:
Obamacare's impact in Ky
Kentuckys uninsurance rate declined from 13.6 in 2012 to 6.1 percent in 2015. "While other states also have seen declines in uninsurance since the ACA, Kentuckys decline has been larger than the U.S. and most neighboring states," the report noted.
Coverage through Medicaid and the Childrens Health Insurance Program increased 6.4 percent points to 19.8 percent, which the report says is likely due to Medicaid expansion.
Kentuckians who had trouble paying medical bills dropped from 49.1 percent in 2012 to 37.6 percent in 2015.
In 2015, about 22 percent of adults surveyed in Kentucky reported poor or fair health, compared to about 24 percent in 2012.
Potentially preventable hospitalizations from short-term complications of diabetes increased, but admissions for high blood pressure and asthma decreased.
The percentage of Kentucky infants being breastfed at hospital discharge increased from 62.8 in 2012 to 68.7 percent in 2015. This was "supported by ACA requirements for most private health insurance to cover breastfeeding counseling and equipment, such as breast pumps," according to the report.
Adult obesity rose from 31.3 percent in 2012 to 34.6 percent in 2015. But the report noted, While access to health care services may serve an important role in stopping and reversing the rise of obesity in Kentucky, it is a complex problem that has taken decades to reach todays levels of prevalence, and halting or reversing that trend may take years."
The study was commissioned by the foundation and produced by the State Health Access Data Assistance Center at the University of Minnesota.

(182,826 posts)That could be where the numbers are rising (let's assume they are). People with lung cancer and diabetes aren't going to be in the data unless they go see a doctor and are diagnosed.
His initial example - you don't create policy to cover specific cases, policy is set for a broad reason and scope.

(3,515 posts)the US life expectancy is compared to that of countries with single payer, universal insurance.
I bet the governor is unaware of the relatively low life expectancy in the US.
Kentucky's life expectancy is relatively low for the US.

(5,801 posts)pukes recently citing longer life expectancy as a reason to cut Social Security. Maybe they have, but if so, it's now a lie. Americans are dying sooner. We have rounded the bend and are hurtling towards true third-world status for a large percentage of the people.
When will 'Muricans wake up and realize that they are being screwed by the GOPee? And politicians who favor corporations over people Vote them out.
not fooled
(5,801 posts)you keep having people using these programs because there are fewer jobs and fewer people with good insurance. raygunomics and other puke policies keep increasing poverty and the number of people needing help.
What an asshole. I feel sorry for the people of Kentucky who will suffer under heartless puke strategems to shovel money upwards. And yeah, Kentuckians need to stop voting for pukes.
