instead, he's slacking when he's not trying to grift, and trying desperately to spin things so he looks good.

like the con man he's always been, he's completely uninterested in actually making anything good happen.

the closest he comes is taking credit for the sun coming up and whining when something makes him look bad.

that's not "not up to the task".

that's completely inappropriate for the role.
