Voting 'No' on an appropriations bill that almost all Republicans refuse to revise in any way. If the Republicans don't get everything they want, the Democrats will shut down the government.

Yep, yep, yep.........it's all the Democrats' fault because they won't bow to Trump's and the GOP's ransom demands for a budget. Bi-partisan cooperation in getting the bill passed? HA! Only weakling Democrats deal with matters in a bi-partisan way. The GOP grabs everyone by the throat and tells them how things are going to be, and if they don't like it? They'll hold their breath until they turn blue and shut down the government. AND IT'S THE DEMOCRATS' FAULT! Just give in to the GOP's ransom demands and everything is hunky-dory.

I really, really hope Americans aren't buying into this bullshit. Americans have totally let us down in the past though, for reasons that make absolutely no sense whatsoever.

And Ted Cruz? You're one of the most dishonest, ineffectual GOP Senators in a prize-winning group of dishonest, ineffectual GOP Senators. The 'cream of the crap', if you will.

If you are going to call someone out you need to have your facts ready. You need to be able to tell them exactly what they did and when they took that action. You cannot just call someone out and expect them to fold, especially someone like Ted Cruz, or Donald Trump. Also, MSNBC needs to do a better job of recruiting these reporters because these reporters do not seem to be very strong. They get flustered when the likes of Cruz, or Trump push back against them. They need to get reporters who are strong and can fight back.

Could she not have asked him was he not the one doing the filibuster? How can you be against shutting down the government if you are doing the filibuster? How is it the fault of the Democratic Party if you are the person preventing the Senate from taking a vote? My analogy might not work, but isn't Cruz's logic the same of someone who takes a person hostage, eventually kills the hostage because the family was not able to come up with the money, and them blames the family for the death of the hostage by saying if only the family had given him the money he demanded the hostage would not have been killed; therefore, it is the family and not he who is guilty of murder. That logic is just insane.

He was lying through his teeth, but the reporters weren't prepared at the ready with the facts of the 2013 shutdown (understandably so).

Cruz shut the govt down as the newbie leader of the alt-right tea partiers, demanding a shut down if the Dems weren't going to repeal Obamacare.

His own party didn't want to, but eventually Boehner caved.

That's how I remember it.
