I saw Harry Anderson do this in a small comedy club near Pittsburgh, 1980ish. I was no more than 10 feet from him through the whole show. He was funny and a great magician. This particular stunt, looked very real from where I was sitting. He also took a 20 dollar bill from a spectator after he read the serial number, and tore it to pieces. Then took a cigarette from another spectator, lit it, took a drag then stubbed it out. When he crumbled the cigarette, the original twenty dollar bill was rolled up inside it. Great show.

First thing I thought of when my wife told me this morning that he passed. We watched night court in college.

Only the good die young.

My friends hung out with him in New Orleans, he stole my friends watch right off his wrist.

He gave it back.
