I have watched Democrsts, Republicans and Independents spend years justifying US support of dictators, US sale of weapons to madmen, and even US coups and the backing of right-wing death squads.
Sure, even here, when someone posts a thread about something about the US military doing something overseas it's often called 'whataboutism'. Because it's easier to avoid it, stay ignorant of it and forget it than deal with the implications.
Sure, we call the generation that's responsible for some of the absolutely worst war crimes, mass murder and anti-democratic violence 'the greatest generation' - UNIRONICALLY.
Left and right.
We name airports and boats after people responsible for mass murder.
And you'd be hard pressed to find Americans of ANY political belief that protest this, care about it... Or even know about it.
The right, for the record, is wildly more delusional than willfully ignorant... But does it matter when the outcome is the same? Victims are probably less sure than most of us here are.
