Trump has no concept of realpolitik, no concept of geopolitics, diplomacy. It's all about his fragile ego, he thinks everyone is a nice guy who will bend to the carrots he offers them. He has no idea of international geopolitical hardball, that there is a stick behind every carrot.

Mika and Joe are doing their part. When is this nightmare going to end? We are going to pay dearly economically, politically, socially, domestically for this interlude for 2 generations at least. We are falling behind and Trump is helping our enemies in order to help himself. Our national security state should be ALL OVER THIS. TODAY.

No, the way the Republicans are behaving is NOT like Democrats have ever behaved toward a President. There has never a time in our history that the left has demanded a pledge of personal loyalty to a President, no matter what he does. There has never, to my knowledge, been a President on the left who has praised dictators, excused human rights abuse by other countries, esp while condemning and alienating our allies. And if one did, there is no doubt in my mind that other Democrats would get that President straight right away.

There were Dems who did not side with Clinton on the Lewinsky matter, who spoke out against Obama's positions on things and wouldn't go along with everything he wanted.

What's going on now is NOT how a political party behaves. It's closer to how a cult behaves. To go along with housing children in detention centers w/o windows, where our politicians and reporters aren't allowed to enter and photograph. Where those children have been literally removed from parents. The horror of that. They're right...that will discourage new immigration of all sorts. But so would shooting them all. What a small step that would be...from taking the children and incarcerating them, to shooting "the offenders." A year ago I would have said the latter would be impossible in our country. Now, I'm not so sure.
