The majority in the United States don't want to hear, or know the truth about this country.

To refer to Russian hacking of our election as a “marginality” is simply stupid and arrogant. To claim Netanyahu speaking before our congress represented greater election interference than the Russians hacking into 23 state voter databases is just downright ignorant. Chomsky seems to me to be one of those public figures who, over time, become so full of themselves that they begin to lack public relevance anymore.

in the runup to the Iraq War. He said we were focusing on the wrong countries. The real threats in the world were Iran and N Korea, and that spending our money and focus and time on Iraq & such was just diverting those resources from what was the major threat to us and the entire world. I saw his interview on that. I'm sure many thought he was foolish and past his prime. But he was indeed correct.

He didn't mean that terrorism wasn't important, that Saddam Hussein wasn't evil, or that Russian interference doesn't matter...but that something else is more of a danger.

Because it's irreversible and affects the whole planet. It doesn't matter what the political system is, if you can't live anywhere where you can breathe the air, drink the water, suffer the heat and the hurricanes and increasing natural disasters. It threatens human existence.
