I Think I Like This Guy.

Gubernatorial candidate Ben Jealous just gave the most sensible response to the standard Republican red-baiting smear job I've ever seen. Good for him.

Reporter: "Not to put too fine a point on it, but do you identify with the term socialist?"

Jealous: "Are you fucking kidding me? (pregnant pause) Is there a FINER point?"

Reporter: "Thank you."

Let's get down to brass tax, here. There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG with being a democratic socialist. But NOT ONE American politician would qualify as one. Not Bernie Sanders, not Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and CERTAINLY not Ben Jealous. If supporting universal, single-payer healthcare, and a slightly higher tax rate on the wealthy makes you a socialist, then Somalia would probably be the only country that qualifies as NON-socialist.

From what I just heard, I’d vote for this guy in a heartbeat; but “ are you fucking kidding me?” was probably not the way to win that evenjellocan vote out there in “the heartland country”. Just saying...

And that Repug Troll, who so rudely ignored everything Jealous said, deserved the response. Sometimes you just have to
heckle them back in blunt language that flatly shames,shuts them down. And Jealous did.
