Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO) - Trade

Donald Trump is waging a trade war that hurts a lot of American workers. Maybe he would understand that if our heavy-handed documentaries about the global trading system were more informative.

but sometimes, watching his clips, I get so discouraged and disgusted. We have a moron in the WH. ugh.

Thanks for sharing!

He usually gets a couple of jokes out of the way, then moves on to a larger issue which is important to him. This is the closest he's gotten to discussing a Trump issue this season. And I think he's great too, so I make a point of posting him when he's on for those who missed it!

Updated my signature for Christmas, LOL. I have actual pix on Photobucket, but I can't share them anymore. My dog is Jack, a Brussels Griffon who found me at 5 months back in 2006. He was a pet shop rescue and is snoring next to me right now. And my kitty is Felix, black with long hair, I found him as a kitten back in 2014 in a supermarket parking lot - and he's grown up into a beautiful cat.

I don't have a pet right now but I am guilty of watching cat and dog videos daily. My spouse is not an animal person per se. He's never had one and our situation isn't permanent so we have to wait to get a pet. Once we're permanent, he knows, that I will be getting a pet. Cats and dog love him though. He's got a kind and gentle soul and every time we are around pets, they pay so much attention to him that I'm sure he'll fall head over heels in love once we get a pet.

And it seems like my guys find me. They're not only good company, not to mention entertaining, but they're good for your health, as well. My grandmother moved to a retirement community where those with apartments can bring their pets, and the parts of the community for those who need nursing care have resident pets as well. I made friends with the dogs since I always had cookies, LOL. I'm sure your spouse won't be able to resist a pet who loves him...

He's been a career man for 25 yrs so he didn't want pets or children. He's going to retire in about 10 yrs anyway and we hope to be settled in some where permanently soon enough. right now, we're in an apartment so not the greatest place for a pet yet. I'd rather have a kitty as I miss my ole Sammie that I had before we got married 12 yrs ago. She used to sit on my lap and keep me warm and I want another one like her. Cats are low maintenance and we travel enough to make having a dog seem impossible to care for without boarding. It's too expensive to board a dog here. have a great day!

In case anyone didn't get it (I had to Google it myself), Ridley Scott had to replace Kevin Spacey with Plummer for the role of J. Paul Getty in the movie All the Money in The World.

I will have to watch it again! He talked so fast and covered so much that it was difficult to follow him even though, of course, I know the material.

How did Donald Trump become President of the United States? This man seems to know and understand very few policy issues. I cannot believe that a person who ran for public office was that ignorant.

It is sad that at times it seems that people get more informative news from a comedian than from news channels. Maybe I watched the wrong new channels during the election, but I feel I learned more from watching this clip than I did from watching the news. No wonder Americans are so uninformed and misinformed. We have to watch comedy shows in order to get information about candidates for the highest offices of our country.
