Lifelong Republican Voting Straight Democrat for the first time

I talked to a lifelong Republican today and he has NEVER voted for a Democrat in his life. We had a short conversation at an art fair in Rochester Hills, MI and he allowed me to record his intention to vote a straight Democratic ticket.

Heck, is it possible that 40-50% of republicans, who possibly have the ability to think cognitively, might do the same this election? I'm hoping.

He was a life long republican that was going to vote straight democratic "to save our democracy"
I told him he gave me hope. He went on to say he wanted to see Paul Ryan as our next president. One step at a time I think. It does give me hope we can win in the end.
The end is just taking too long.

.The original post.
and ... airplaneman post number 7

What does that mean?? The answer is,...................................................................................
If this holds true, that even one in ten Republicans, who have never voted for the Democratic party, changeand do vote for the Democratic party, then the Republican party is in trouble.

Why would they do that?....As the fellow said..He doesn't agree with the direction the Republicans are going. He is a .."a centrist " .. his words...and party has sold him out...

What he doesn't say is ....Trump has sold him out with the way he leads the party. Trump is their leader.Trump is the biggest liar and asshole of them all. If one in ten Republicans do this, or
don't vote at all..and we all vote, then guess what??...you answer that one..

They were in turmoil from the Mitt Romney/Paul Ryan loss in the 2012 Election. It was through the Russian criminal activity that they put their candidate in OUR White House. They have to look over their shoulder at what is coming.

He was sporting a Beto t-shirt and I just had to ask him if he was a Democrat or Independent. It didn’t even occur to me to include Republican as a choice. So I was delighted when he told me that he had previously considered himself a Republican, but he just couldnt support this current bunch and that he would voting Democratic in this election.

In the past month I have seen several Beto yard signs and bumper stickers. The only Cruz sign I have seen went up just a few days ago in a public right of way on the side of a road. Apparently no one wants to put a sign on there car, property or clothing. I am beginning to believe this could really happen.
