That ad takes an axe to a central Cruz meme. Guys who claim to be Texas guys--straight, gay, Anglo, Latino, Afro-American, whatever--don't put up with the sort of c__p that Donald Trump dished out during the primaries, let alone come around two years later and beg for their abuser's help two years later when they're in danger of losing their office. I would think that a real man, one with cojones, would spurn the assistance of such an abuser and stand on his own two feet. (Excrement)-eating is not something a real Texas tough guy does.


I'm not advocating a return to the bad old days where personal disputes were primarily resolved with barroom brawls with knives or broken bottles, or High Noon type shootouts, but I agree that Ted's current behavior falls well short of what a real tough guy, confident in his own strength or even in fear of walking into a losing fight, would do.
