Does America Have To Choose Between Impeaching Trump and War with Russia? (w/Guest Stephen Cohen)

As the Mueller investigation into what some are calling #Russiagate continues to unfold, some like friend of the show and guest Stephen Cohen, are becoming concerned that the investigation, allegations, and 24 hour news cycle, are worsening tensions with Russia and leading to a place where we may have to choose between impeaching Donald Trump and war with Russia.

Russia would destroy themselves because we get rid of Trump? Because that's what would happen. I don't think so. There are credible reasons not to attempt impeachment at this time. This isn't one.

They've been through worse. Going into this rather spectacular success on Putin's part

A) Every Russian in on it knew that even reaching their wildest dream would have a shelf life, and it's already LONG past its "Best By" date.

B) That "wildest dream" mentioned above? They are almost certainly dumbfounded at how far past that their success extends. This gambit makes Pinochet, the Shah or Marcos look like something their kids did for a class project.

Shame on Hartmann for promoting him and his Putin agenda of destroying democracy worldwide.

I have no doubt Trump did it for financial gain, Russia did it to weaken NATO and to end sanctions. Stephen Cohen is an expert on US Russian relations and I appreciate his input but dragging HRC's name through the mud by claiming she was also talking to Russia for her own gain, goods on tRump is total rightwing taking points BS. I know we treated Russia like crap over the decades, not helping much with their transition to capitalism, which is a failed system also, but they declared cyber war on us, they are committing murders on expatriates, Russia doesn't play well with others. I hope we can repair relations someday, the Russian people deserve better than what they have and I hope the can give their fascist leadership the boot and we can do the same.

It was well before the 2016 election, and I thought, hey this is Thom, and I should listen.

He talked about how NATO went beyond their agreement with Russia and pushed too far with Ukraine. Obama was President and then Russia invaded it, and we sanctioned Russia.

I never trusted Putin for a moment, but listened to Hartmann because I trusted Thom. But I was confused until I heard this guy, Stephen Cohen as it played, earlier.

I guess congratulations to Thom for putting it out there rather than hiding it, because it is embarrassing. It is Fox News. Thom argues with right wing people daily, but he has put this guy out there as an expert on Russia for years.

I wondered in the past if he needed to do so to stay on RT, and I am wondering what he thinks about himself for doing so.

I’ve been a Hartmann fan since 2004, and I don’t give up on him. I am loyal to Democrats until they really go beyond something. But this is clear. Thom needs to distance himself from RT.

And that stupid introduction about war with Russia or impeaching Trump. I can’t believe that Thom led off with Cohen’s words like it was one or the other. That’s just dumb. Come on Thom, WTF are you doing?
