The Bald Eagle That Would Not Quit (FASCINATING Wildlife Rehab videos)

I've watched a couple videos of this guy expertly re-habbing and releasing big, beautiful birds and all the while educating the public about these birds. This is one of them:

What a great story, and an amazing man. I am constantly in awe of people who care for animals and rehabilitate them. I'm going to order this guy's book.

Thank you for posting this. People like him are such an inspiration to all of us.

I wonder why rehabilitated birds can't be banded. Doesn't make sense ...

Those are the two most likely scenarios.

Lead normally doesn't occur naturally on Earth's surface and not in ways animals would come in contact with it through feeding.

It's disgusting to think that someone would shoot a Bald Eagle or any large bird of prey, but that's a fact of human civilization.

If you kill an animal, like a rabbit or deer or rat with lead shot, there are traces of lead in that animal's meat. Dispose of the entire animal instead of leaving it for nature's predators to feed on. And while you're at it, reconsider that deer meat you shot for family consumption using that same type of lead bullet.

Lead poisoning is most often seen in Bald Eagles and vultures at the Center since these birds often scavenge gut piles and other unrecovered game that contains lead fragments. Occasionally, the Center also treats owls, hawks, waterfowl, and other avian species for lead. Learn more about lead poisoning and treatment.

Absolutely fascinating - such a beautiful, majestic animal. Bless him for helping save these birds' lives and educating the rest of us in the process.
