(6,810 posts)Shorter: "People keep calling it a summary, it wasn't a summary so stop calling it a summary, because it was a summary." He actually used the word summary himself to describe his first letter after saying people were wrong to call it a summary. u wot, m8?

(702 posts)Doesn't seem to include releasing the report to anyone.
And he hasn't and probably wont. We are never going to see it.

(4,858 posts)...which would have been insane. Nor do I think that Mueller necessarily disagrees with Barr's sypnosis of the report. I think it's possible that we're setting ourselves up for a certain amount of disappointment when the full report comes out. Not because Trump is innocent. Jesus H Christ, no. Literally nothing in his life--nothing--entitles him to any benefit of any doubt whatsoever. I simply think that the transactions between Trump and Moscow were done more thru cut-outs, done with a wink and an understanding than an explicit conspiracy that can be proved in court--which, after all, is what Mueller was looking for. So my feeling is that Trump is guilty--but there are no "tapes". Just like the 1980 election, and just like Iran-Contra. And Barr understands this, and his role in the cover-up.

2) Trump's fixer and smoke and mirrors man.
Personally, I think the second possibility is the most likely.
My advice to Democratic congressional leaders - don't play ball with Barr, don't fall for his song and dance for one minute - just subpoena the f-ing Mueller report NOW! Taxpayer money funded the report, so the American taxpayer deserves to see it and read it for themselves.
All Republican objections should be met with: If the Mueller report totally exonerates Trump then there's no reason why he wouldn't be thrilled and delighted to have the whole thing made public, and sold on every street corner.
