And yes, she did cry a little, but she also bought a platinum watch chain and fob for her husband.

I imagine human hair has been used for centuries to satisfy the needs or vanities of people who could afford to buy it. I'm trying to remember if it was Jane Austin, Wm Thackeray, Charles Dickens or all three who had an older female character who pinned a cluster of curls at her hairline; definitely mentions in literature abound of ladies of fashion who pinned long curls to their high fashion coiffures.

I should go to Amazon and download O.Henry's stories; he was one of my favorites when I was a kid.

They specialize in out-of-copyright editions and have about 60,000 books available by now.

Just looked it up -- they have it.

and it sells for under $30. That's not his. I wonder if it's only available through salons.
