Related: About this forum(D) cmte chair couldn't respond to convention chair's record as mayor of Los Angeles
I already posted this YouTube clip to GD back in April when I first discovered it. This YouTube clip was taken from a longer interview that Doug McIntyre, a moderate and the morning drive host of McIntyre in the Morning at Los Angeles radio station KABC, did with Debbie Wasserman-Schultz on April 2 (audio; interview begins at 13 minute mark, and McIntyre continues commenting about this interview at 25-minute mark after doing another, unrelated interview). As I commented back in April:
Basically the host, Doug McIntyre, asked DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz questions about the local dislike of Los Angeles mayor Antonio Villaraigosa over the city of Los Angeles not paving the sidewalks, the progressive alt publication LA Weekly dubbing Villaraigosa the "11% mayor", Los Angeles magazine's "failure" cover, and Villaraigosa bundlers being convicted of crimes (such as Norman Hsu). Sadly, DWS fed the right wing red meat by evading the questions and reverting instead of empty PR talking points about Villaraigosa being "effective" and a "grassroots leader".
DUers aren't really fond of Villaraigosa; comments at this thread of a story announcing the choice of Villaraigosa included:
His results in LA have been mixed at best. I think it'll just be seen as a superficial get-hispanic-votes thing from a guy who's been criticized for superficially getting hispanic votes to get where he is (Antonio/Tony Villar)and has the big potential to backfire.
Antonio is a terrible choice - he was all rah rah Hillary before he was all rah rah Obama. Big self-promoter and slick...his wife had enough. And he's disappointed the rest.
And a DUer commented elsewhere: "He's not even that popular in L.A. I don't know why the picked him. There were better choices." Yep, I guess DWS should have picked someone like Raul Grijalva or Luis Gutierrez if she wanted to do outreach to Hispanic voters as she claimed in the interview.
So what do you think of the way DWS responded to McIntyre's claims about Villaraigosa's record including the possible bankruptcy of Los Angeles?

OP
Dear Debbie, The correct response is "I will look into that" or something else.

I can't think of ANY Los Angeles mayor that I've like in 30 some years living here! Yup...in the end, I've hated them all.
And aren't most mayors disliked around the country? Maybe because we hear about the bad and goofy, but not the ones
that are truly doing something...if there are some.
Seems that the position attracts a lot of the types that are all Boutineer and Fluff, but no serious work or answers.

As much as I've followed and supported you, here in MN, you remind me lately of my senator, Amy Klobuchar. Dismissing others doesn't look good and isn't the kind of professionalism I thought We represent. Best to be honest. Proof is in the performance, perhaps? Otherwise, I commend your efforts.
