Video: Mitt Romney Admits the Economy is "Getting Better" under Pres. Obama

Michael Allen, Tue, September 04, 2012

During the Republican National Convention last week, GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney and vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan started mocking President Obama with the 1980 Ronald Reagan line: "Are you better off now than you were four years ago?"

However, ThinkProgress.org and MSNBC (video below) reported that in January of this year, Mitt Romney admitted the economy was getting better during an interview with Laura Ingraham.

Romney said: "Well, of course it’s getting better. The economy always gets better after a recession, there is always a recovery."

Ingraham replied: "Isn’t it a hard argument to make if you’re saying, like, OK, he inherited this recession, he took a bunch of steps to try to turn the economy around, and now, we’re seeing more jobs, but vote against him anyway? Isn’t that a hard argument to make? Is that a stark enough contrast?"

Romney came back with: "Have you got a better one, Laura? It just happens to be the truth."

Romney video begins at 9:08 below.

the ReCons have done. Next they plan to steal everything from the middle class, like they have demolished the poor.

How is it not obvious to everyone how the ReCon Governors and ReCon Congress have stonewalled any progress by those who care about this country to bring in national work programs and fired public workers on the ruse that the budget could not afford them then they handed the money and more to big business?

Despite the rotten tactics of the Right we are better off and have been pulled back by a thread from the edge of the cliff by the policies of our thoughtful President and the hard working Democrats and Independents working for us.

Snap out of it! Republican lies cannot be listened to any more! Romney said things are better but then he has said everything and anything.

Romney's word is worthless. Viewing our economy in real time and with our real eyes we know that things are better than Sept 2007.

Reality is clear. Obama is not perfect yet his work has helped us, and the Romney team is total "BS" and includes the same Bush gang that ruined everything.
