PASS government shutdown video

Hello, all.

Well, we may be looking at another government shutdown a week before Thanksgiving, which is when the continuing resolution passed by Congress at the end of September is set to expire. The labor community was incredibly supportive of the federal workers who were furloughed or working without pay during the partial government shutdown earlier this year. You joined PASS on informational pickets held across the country and amplified our messaging to your members. While I certainly hope an agreement can be reached to avoid a shutdown, I know we can count on your support if there is.

Half of our members at the Federal Aviation Administration were furloughed, not performing safety-critical work for the American flying public while the other half were working without pay. All of them spoke up and stepped up to the microphone to tell the public how the shutdown was impacting aviation safety.

Our members remained dedicated to the mission to protect the flying public while unpaid bills were piling up and holiday plans had been thrown into disarray.

Again, we hope there isn’t another shutdown on the horizon but there are no guarantees. What IS guaranteed is that labor will stick together if there is. PASS is proud of our members and to be a part of this community.
