Not everyone who serves America wears a uniform.

I was infantry and I was ready to fight for our country.

I wanna go to Viet Nam
I wanna kill some Viet Cong.
If you get there before I do
Tell them I am coming too.

The majority sargeants were blacks and browns.
The military was their livelihood. They trained me.

After basic I realized I did not want to go to Nam, at all.
I had volunteered for everything John Wayne would have.
I got sent to Germany (and I hated all the K.P. and guard duty
and marching and spit shine. There were no women but that
did not matter ... I was broke.

While in Germany I learned that LBJ lied us into conflict. The Viet's
were framed, We were murderers of women and children. I must
have already received my honorable discharge (served my time)
when Jane did her Viet Nam stuff and I have always loved her for
it.

No, I did not go to Viet Nam but I am recognized as a vet because
I was drafted for Viet Nam and went overseas. I lived it.
