They are setting a trap for the Democrats, who will, quite logically, raise taxes to fix the hole the Republicans dug for us.

Thus giving Republicans an issue to run on in the future.

trying to scare the public by claiming every plan put forward by Democratic candidates will raise their taxes. The problem is, it works. Democrats can only try to educate the public about the danger the GOP has put the country win by increasing the debt by a trillion dollars, cutting taxes on the wealthy, and giving billions to farmers to keep their votes during a disastrous and unnecessary trade war with China.
