Calls increase to nationalise South Africa's mines

Striking miners in South Africa are calling for the nationalisation of private companies saying government control could end growing inequality between employees and their bosses.
However, some worry that nationalisation would scare away foreign investment and be detrimental to South Africa's economy.
Al Jazeera's Haru Mutasa reports on this controversial subject Johannesburg.

(although I'd make sure the management of the mines was put in the hands of the miners themselves rather than some centralized bureaucratic model).

The major cause of instability and potential racial strife in post-apartheid South Africa has been the foreign(including Clinton Administration) insistence that the South African economy be run on neoliberal austerity terms-an insistence that has massively increased the fully justified resentments the black(and still poor)majority feel towards the white minority.

Apartheid won't really be over until economic apartheid is over.
