In this video, you heard the explanation for the three wisemen following the star in the east as being the three stars of Orion's belt aligning with the star Sirius to point to the rising Sun on December 25th. There's yet another explanation for this Christian myth - not an outer celestial one, but an inner spiritual / mystical one.

The great Indian yoga master, Paramahansa Yogananda, who was the first to live and teach in the United States, from 1920 to 1952, explains that the Star in the East is the Blue Star of the Christ Consciousness, which can be seen in the Third Eye, in the center of the forehead between and behind the two eyebrows, in deep meditation. The reason why it is called the Star in the East is that the forehead, in which the Third Eye resides, is ruled by the astrological sign of Aries, which is an eastern sign associated with the Spring Equinox and the rising of the Sun. When the Three Wise Men tell King Herod that they have seen Jesus' star in the east, they are really referring to the beautiful blue star of the Christ Consciousness. Otherwise, it is logically and geographically impossible for them to come from the East by following a star in the East. What were they doing - were they facing backwards all the way on their journey to Bethlehem? Things that don't seem to make sense from a literal viewpoint in scripture usually point to a deeper spiritual or allegorical meaning which is concealed from the eyes of the profane.
