Danes for Bush movie from 2004, gonzo filmmaking

A political tour of two Danish TV/movie actor/directors who pretend to be a delegation of grassroots supporters from Denmark of Danes for Bush coming to the United States in 2004. They pretend to love and support Bush and talk with various people/groups, bringing out the absurd beliefs of many of the Bush supporters who want more war, oil and more guns for everyone. Many of the groups are Christian.

The actors are Mads Brugger (Cortzen), and Jacob Boeschou. Mads went on to make other undercover, absurdest or investigatory films, The Red Chapel, where he travels to North Korea with 2 Danish Korean comedians, one of whom is a self-described spastic and who would be sent to a secret camp if he actually lived in North Korea. Another movie he made was The Ambassador where he went to Liberia after purchasing a diplomatic title and pretends to be a businessman in Liberia, gaining entree into the political money game with diamonds. His last movie was a documentary on the UN Director who was shot down in Africa in 1961, with a huge conspiracy theory tracked and uncovered. He has made the observation that he learned during his filmmaking experiments in pretending to be somebody that you aren't, it is much better to be loud and ostentatious than to be quiet and in the background, because you actually are more accepted and people believe you more and trust you more when you are loud and bigger than life.

Length 1.5 hours
