(34,433 posts)I don't know how YouTube sequences videos, but I fell asleep watching a history documentary and woke up to this recording. What I heard was shocking. I didn't pay much attention to the whole brouhaha when it broke several months ago, but something didn't seem quite right about her claims of abuse. I've always had a pretty finely-tuned bullshit detector and I guess it still works. She was verbally attacking him and he was doing nothing but trying to diffuse the situation. She was relentless. It pisses me off that he got fired from that movie and had all hell rain down on him because everybody believed her. She got all the sympathy and work. And she was the abuser. She even mocked him for "being a baby" by not physically fighting back. She has some serious issues. I hope this vindicates him.

(111,329 posts)and abuse is often insidious. Add to that the honeymoon phase after abuse occurs to suck a partner back in and you've got a nearly unbreakable cycle. People who are abused live for the days or weeks when the charm offensive is turned back on by the abuser and they can once again experience being with the perfect soul mate.
I don't automatically believe anyone. Mostly, I educate about the cycle and what a trap it is and talk about how it never gets better, not without a commitment to years of therapy, and that most people are better off leaving--the target to avoid injury or death and the abuser to avoid prison.
I don't pretend to know anything that has gone on here, but if this was typical behavior on her part, he got off cheap, raw deal or not.

(19,204 posts)leave at your own chosen speed,
I'm not the one you want, babe
I'm not the one you need.
It's ain't me babe. That's all I can think of from listening to the first 15 minutes of this. There's no way I could listen to all of it. Bob Dylan saw all this coming 55 years ago. Geeesh....has it been that long? I'm getting old.

(10,235 posts)Obviously very immature. But, I hate to say it, when some older guy marries a 20 year old beauty queen hes at least putting himself in a bad situation. Hed probably have better luck with someone closer to his own age.

(86,765 posts)She's a polished psychopath... one of my parents and two of my siblings were/are exactly like that. The exact same reasoning and wording and varying tones of accusation. They are always the victim. It's what makes her successful as an actress, the ability to pretend she is something she is not.
