Bush received before Aug. 6, 2001, warning him that an attack by al-Qaida operatives was imminent.

... we talked about the pre 9/11 events. One theme that I got was that everyone was so entrenched in their cold war mentality that they believed a nation state (Iraq) was the biggest threat, that Bush people did not believe warnings about how the biggest threat now comes from stateless terror cells and not a foreign nations.


I didn't think that the negligence was so extreme.
