(4,858 posts)...I miss baseball, and the NCAA, and the masters... ...as for the Stadium--why not just name it Willie Mays Field, and be done with it? I'm so goddam sick of sports teams whoring after corporate sponsors for their damned parks...but it has its comic side. Remember Enron Field...?

(41,831 posts)if everyone or most people were to stay at home, we might be in the clear in 8 weeks.

(51,608 posts)That seems realistic. Until we all (meaning every person on Earth) have caught it and recovered and is immune or a vaccine is found it will continue in "waves". It is here to stay for a long time.

(51,608 posts)"scientists" say that you do but it probably will last a year. If it comes in waves the first patients to get it could get reinfected and spread it. Also, those who recovered and are immune can go to work and pick up the slack for people who are needed to provide services, etc and replace the exhausted, over worked ones.

(51,608 posts)It could last 2 years since everyone needs to become immune, either by getting it and recovering, having natural anti bodies or a vaccine is developed. This is BAAAD!

(9,446 posts)I will bet that many pro sports are playing with dates and announcements in order to meet contractual obligations with major media companies, so they can get payments which will allow them to survive a little longer.
