in order to keep your job. Fauci has figured out that if he presents Trump as meaning well, he can get away with the subtext that he's completely ignorant by calling him a "layperson." Nice job walking that tightrope, Doc.

I don't want a layman as President. I got plenty of relatives who can do the job of keeping me conversationally informed, as most of us do. They do it for free. We don't need to pay someone.

. . . because if Trump fires him, you know his replacement will be another Trump stooge. Fauci, while not directly criticizing Trump, has nevertheless been unafraid to counter Trump's fact-free statements with fact-based ones.
