....I live near a major street in a Chicago suburb. I am about 40 feet from this so called busy street. (it is named, Lincoln Avenue).. I have never heard it so quiet. I look out over that street and it is empty..just like the photos. But this is a local street in a suburb of Chicago. There is a quiet emptiness that is in some ways horrifying. Once on ,one day only, in my 30 years of living here, have I heard it this quiet. 9/11/2001.
