(2,067 posts)There goes the rule of law and congressional oversight. SCOTUS ruled against both Nixon and Clinton by unanimous decision; just the mere fact that the court is so divided over such matters, when it used to be unanimous, is very, very troubling. The precedent that a ruling in favor of Trump would set would be very, very damaging to our democracy.

(26,320 posts)very last day in office as he knows that regardless he is looking at a number of potential criminal charges both at the state and federal level.
That means he will be hopping on a jet to some country that will be unlikely to extradite him to the US and if I was going to wager money on which country it would be to Russia.

He'll likely leave before Biden' Inauguration
At that point, not sure what the Secret Service on the plane could do, especially if they discover it out of U.S. jurisdiction
And definitely, if he has some private security on the plane
The thing to watch for, if he's moving the vast majority, or all his assets into off-shore accounts he's fleeing
