No applause or laughing but it's all there. What a journey for Stephen and everyone else. And us.

Thank you Rhiannon your dedication. I look forward posts - a dash of Colbert sanity when things are looking grim.

Not to mention his "staff" (family), LOL. And you're more than welcome. I started posting the late night comedians when I realized that they were helping keep me sane in this painful time of unrelenting Trump news - and I figured that all of us here really need the humor right now.

In case you're wondering about Stephen's birthday cake decoration, I highly recommend it as a Quarantini! Here's how to make one at home.

Ingredients:
1 demitasse (2-3 oz) espresso
1.5 oz. Vanilla-flavored vodka
1 oz. Frangelica
1 oz. Godiva chocolate liqueur

While brewing fresh espresso, put a handful of ice cubes in a martini shaker. Pour the hot liquid over the ice and shake gently to bring down the temperature. (plain ice coffee or even room-temperature strong coffee is an acceptable substitute). Chill martini glasses.

Add remaining ingredients, cover and shake well.

Serve immediately.
