With it's 1.6 million people (The borough of the Bronx has 1.42 million people and Brooklyn has 2.5 million) and it's 3 electoral votes is the very definition of a "flyover country". But they have "Genuine Americans". (LOL)

Montana - 2 senators + 1 representative = 1 for every 356,000 people
New York - 2 senators + 27 representatives = 1 for every 674,000 people

They're called fly over for good reason. It masks the inherent corruption of fewer citizens to police their own democracy. Fewer news papers, fewer locally originated media outlets. Greater economic dependency on public (federal) lands, military bases. So long as their GOP continues bring home the pork to their elite, they remain bovine.

When we first moved to Wyoming, some 43 years ago, hubby met a young man who had NEVER LEFT SHERIDAN. He and a friend took him to Denver to see a Broncos game and it turned out just like you think.

I had a friend who taught high school here and honestly when those students were tasked with drawing in the states on a map Wyoming took up most of it.
