Lots of racist language in it. I was shocked and horrified when I saw it.

Kids seeing it might interpret it wrong. It needs to be discussed and I can't see parents doing that. Lots of the ideology though satire can normalize the bad behavior its mocking.

I get the satire, I don't trust the audience.

who has been able to successfully capture the essence of "ethnic satire and commentary" without the condescending racist overlay. E.g., something like this was hilarious (from his "Spaceballs" ) -

The entirety of "Blazing Saddles" was a magnifying glass on the whole idea of overt racism (with a setting of the "wild west" ) done in a hilarious way. And he didn't need a "Mammy" or "Stepin Fetchit" character to do it.

Which who knows how many times....20-30-100. Saw it originally when it came out in 1974.

Mel in an interview said he was the only Jew that MADE money off of Hitler.

In my opinion, ties with the Marx Brothers' "Night at the Opera" for 1st Place.

...The entire story line is absurd...Two con men try to produce the world's worse play..A play so bad that it will instant flop..and the two who have conned a lot of old ladies out of huge amounts of money, go about to
produce that play...& the results... When they audition .."Hitler" it is one of the funniest scenes ever in any movie.
