Dan O'Connor is seeking to represent NYC's Chinatown in US Congress. The Occupy Movement is not part of the Democratic Party but, hostile against it. The Party of the poor and lower classes abandoned the people and approved billions for rich bankers. Furthermore, NDAA & SOPA has destroyed the image of the Party. The Party of Williams Jennings Bryan, FDR, & The Kennedy Brothers is unrecognizable from that of their corporate brethren- The Republicans. Please help The Democratic Party save face & Please support the New "Old School" type of Democrat- Dan O'Connor

(10,622 posts)The new vision so like Reagan's that they supported (and still do) when they were called Reagan Democrats.
Only traditional Democrats will even know what you are talking about, ones like me that went from the Middle of the party to a far extreme left wing radical in 30 years without changing a single position.
New Democrats prefer the 90's version of the Republican platform as can be evidenced by the people and policies they support.
The health Insurance "reform" they championed was almost a carbon copy of a 1993 Republican Proposal authored by the Heritage Foundation and pushed by Newt Gingrich. They do not like the Democratic platform very much and despise FDR yet they are called Democrats still.

(8,244 posts)He is a libertarian and a Ron Paul supporter running as a democrat because that is the only viable party in that congressional district.
His campaign launch party was thrown by this Ron Paul Group

He is endorsed by Ron Paul support groups:

Here is an article by Dan O'Connor loving Ron Paul:
http://www.campaignforliberty.com/article.php?view=1238
His campaign website is full of misleading half truths.
He does not mention any issues important to democrats such as Medicare, Social Seurity, minimum wage, labor issues, medicaid/welfare/foodstamps, the need for government action to expand access to health care, etc.
Instead he only talks about the usual Ron Paul issues, where he may happen to agree with democrats on war, civil liberties, and trade treaties. We may agree with libertarians on some issues, but that's not even half of what matters.
This is no democrat. This is a Ron Paul supporter in disguise.
Basically he want to make out with Ron Paul, he can't stop talking about Ron Paul:
