Republicans in different states tried to get the label "GOP" put after their names on ballots instead of "republican", not wanting to be associated with being a REPUBLICAN - the tactic didn't work the republicans were not allowed to use "GOP" as they wanted on any of the ballots.

Just as telling, simply watch the many political ads you see where a candidate will go trough their whole ad and not wanting to identify themselves as a republican.

The republicans love to call themselves anything, The GOP. Conservatives, The Right, America's party, etc. etc. anything but a republican -

Many people have spent much time & money vilifying these right-wing assholes as the REPUBLICANS - including the Christian right, the tea- baggers even the Libertarians....in the end they ALL vote REPUBLICAN.

So let's call them what the are fucking Republicans!!

There are a lot of dumb voters out there (just look at the south) who don't know the difference between GOP or Progressive, of course here on DU I'm assuming everyone knows....Still all in all republicans smokescreens prefer to be called "GOP" etc.....But they ALL vote republican and let's call the slimy republicans what they are - Cold-hearted, greedy lying disgusting selfish hating fear-mongering corporate fascist REPUBLICANS!

In politics terminology is everything.
