Kerrey ad portrays Fischer as bad neighbor

Democrat Bob Kerrey launched a biting attack against Republican Deb Fischer on Monday, accusing her of being a bad neighbor and “betraying” an elderly couple who had allowed the Fischer family to graze cattle on their land for years.

The assault in the U.S. Senate race revolves around a lawsuit Fischer and her husband, Bruce, filed against a neighboring ranch couple in 1995. The Fischers tried to take possession of the neighbors’ land in court, arguing they had cared for the land for more than a decade and deserved ownership.

The Fischers lost, and Kerrey hopes to score some political points by resurrecting the lawsuit.

He unleashed a television ad Monday in which three people from Fischer’s hometown of Valentine [--] two Democrats and one Republican criticize the Fischers for the lawsuit against the late Les and Betty Kime.
