both women and men, down in to a low income class then remove federal and state benefits to help them get up and Move Forward and upward again. Ms. Ledbetter is exactly right and many of us do not recognize this country anymore due to Conservative influences of inequality in all walks of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

...and white male Republicans are telling them it's because Democrats are taking away their power to earn good money and giving it to women and minorities.

In the South, they used to keep poor white sharecroppers from rising up by pointing out how much worse black people had it and telling them they were superior based on that alone. As long as poor people see poorer people they feel they are "better".

Tell poor white males that women are going to make the same as them and they feel you are taking away what makes them superior.
