Guns are for cops, ranchers, farmers and hunters. A few other special circumstances, & no more.

The issue is just land, being far from the law, it takes 35 minutes for the sheriff to get to my place. There are poachers, one shot a deer at my place and left it to die, I had to kill it, etc.
