to just hang out here to drum up business for your own separate site.

It's easily confused for spamming. Looks like you've got a good collection of videos, but you might consider limiting your promo posts to a small portion of your contributions here, or putting your link in your sig line. Probably less likely to draw alerts.

all of you to look at the video *and* the website, which is extremely simple, and does nothing but showcase excellent creative progressive political ads--and promote the first video by a collective of volunteer artists to make fun of Scott Brown.

Decide for yourself whether it is mission congruent or spam.

And I am actually one of the stronger advocates on MIRT for looking at repeated linking to blogs or other similar sites in context.

The current presumption seems to be that linking to a blog or similar site in the body of a post, = spam , particularly if it happens more than once, and particularly if you are new to DU. The goal is to keep DU free(er) of spam. Personally, I think we're a little overenthusiastic.

My suggestion was intended to give Mr. Right a heads up so that he gets a chance to stick around, because I agree with your assessment of his site.
