The dates of the actual signings & the actual legislation signed.
Makes me wonder why I got so mad at Obama in 2010.
Maybe it was because I was so focused on what he COULD do or what I thought he SHOULD do rather than what he had actually done.
And yeah I wanted him to go further with what he HAD done & was frustrated that he didn't do more.
I was so caught up in the mentality that he had one shot to get this right or he might not get re-elected again.
I was so worried that we would miss our opportunity if he held back too much.
I didn't think about the long term like I should have.
He knew it would take 2 terms to get the job done & I have come to realize that more & more each day.
I hear people say he's a Centrist.
I never believed that.
He's strategical.
He's Progressive but strategical.
Yeah, it IS 3rd dimensional chess.
He rope-a-doped the Republicans & their Tea Party brand into punching themselves out.
Now in 2012 not only has the Tea Party run out of gas but the whole entire Republican Party may be in jeopardy.
That was his strategy. He's making Obama Republicans just like Reagan made Reagan Democrats.
You got a Republican named Larry Wilkerson, Colin Powell's former Chief of Staff, saying that his party is full of racists openly on live TV.
Former Florida Governor Charlie Crist has left his own party, the Republicans, & now shows up on the Democratic National Convention.
And now we got New Jersey Governor Chris Christie scolding his party about him giving Obama props for his help in the Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.
Instead of just marching in there with a club & bashing the Republicans, he's allowing them to self-destruct by their own hands at their zeal to get at him.
He's creating a long term shift in American politics that will define the next few generations.
In chess sometimes you give up a piece to get a bigger piece.
Sometimes you place bait to secure a checkmate.
I see his plan better now.
He has only been a disappointment to those who wanted him to do virtually everything in 4 years.
I have been one of those people. And I can see his potential, that's why I wanted him to push so much.
I know he's on our side & I gotta be more patient.
When he's finished with his 2nd term, America will be an entirely different country than it was 4 years ago.
He's looking at the long game. At the game BEYOND his time in office.
I understand it more now.
My personality is confrontational & I like a fight.
That's not his way & he has to do it the way he knows how.
It will work out in the end.
You have earned my vote again Barack Obama.
